Undet Indexer 1.8.9 More powerful than ever

Project creator for Point-Cloud-to-CAD endeavors

We’re thrilled to roll out the latest version of Undet Indexer, a core tool that plays a vital role in preparing point cloud data for smooth integration across the Undet software suite. The Indexer is designed to transform raw scan data into a structured, optimized format—ensuring fast performance, accurate alignment, and compatibility with Undet tools like the Undet Browser and plugins for CAD platforms such as ARES Commander, Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp. This release focuses on both efficiency and stability, introducing key new features to streamline your workflow. With the new Drag & Drop functionality, users can quickly add individual files or entire folders by simply dragging them into the Indexer. The new Add Folder option allows you to load and group complete scan directories with one click—ideal for managing large datasets. We’ve also introduced the ability to create Undet Browser projects directly from georeferenced panoramic images, a feature exclusive to Trimble MX60 users. On top of that, we’ve implemented several important bug fixes, resolving issues related to project indexing, the scan data tab in SketchUp, and clipping box exports to .ipcp files. These updates make the Undet Indexer smarter, faster, and more dependable—giving professionals the tools they need to work more effectively with 3D scan data.

The workflow of Undet Indexer:

1. Drag & Drop: drag and drop files or folders into Undet Indexer

You now can drag & drop files and folders into the Indexer. This is a great improvement that saves your time and hassle handling scanned data files in local or network folder hierarchy.

2. Add Folder: adds entire folder of scans as groups

Great enhancement to add entire folder of scanned data files as groups. It helps when you have a folder hierarchy consisting of folders within folders with scanned data files. Imported into Indexer it will automatically create groups. Indexer groups are powerful tool to differentiate your point cloud files based on internal vs external, building levels or any other industry standard point cloud file classification.

3. Project from Georeferenced Images: select panoramic images folder to create Undet Browser project (Trimble MX60 lidar mobile mapping feature only)

New feature for Timble MX60 users that allows to use all Undet Browser features such as walking through, inspecting and browsing the point cloud by having the panoramic images at your disposal which is a result of Trimble MX60 panoramic imaging.

4. Indexer Fixes: multiple issues addressed

Fixed multiple errors related to indexing projects, the scan data tab in SketchUp bug and clipping box exporting to .ipcp file. Several other minor fixes are also included in this update.
